Much before Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya had hit the screens, Silambarasan publicized about his directorial Valiban. The film was to be produced by SS Chakravarthy of Nic Arts and Simbhu was reported to be performing dual roles.

Set in backdrops of India, New York and Sri Lanka, the film was supposed to be made at a big cost. On the spur of moment, Simbhu has dropped this project and has joined hands with director Lingusamy for a commercial film.

According to the sources, Lingusamy has flown down to a foreign land penning script for this film and will soon make official confirmations. Lingusamy’s brother Subash Chandra Bose is producing this film under the banner of Tirupathi Brothers.

Says an upset Madhavan, “Its amazing how many Indians don’t know that one has to stand at attention and without movement during the National Anthem. Sad.”

The star was also overwhelmed when he saw the Afghanistan cricket team’s response to their national anthem during the recent World Cup. “Was so moving to hear the Afghanistan players reaction to their national Anthem at the T20 WC… What a great moment for them,” adds Maddy.

Well Madhavan sure had brought us to tears with his patriotic performance in the blockbuster ‘Rang De Basanti’ and we salute him for not just his reel life character but his real life values as well.

“I am playing a contemporary girl who handles things in her own style. I can rave about my character as it reflects a modern age girl like most Gautham movies do. At the same time, it is a different experience for me,” she says.

Confirming reports that the film is a thriller, Sameera says, “but it is not your usual thriller. It’s quite experimental in terms of treatment and characterisation. I can say it’s something Gautham has never attempted before.”

She adds: “I’m not going to spoil it by telling more. But I can drop a hint, if you go to theatre with some expectations, and then, sorry, you will be dumped with surprises. It is not the regular movie and that’s the way the film is constructed.”

“When we asked Silambarasan whether he is ready for marriage, he made it clear that he would enter wedlock only after the marriage of his younger sister Ilakkiya. So we have decided to honour the sentiments of a dutiful brother,” he says.

Saying Silambarasan is however looking for an apt girl, Rajendar says, “You can expect a good news soon. As a responsible father, I would offer suggestions but never interfere in the decisions Silambarasan takes in his personal life. He knows what’s right and what’s wrong.”

On his forthcoming ventures, the actor-director says, “I am currently busy making a film titled ‘Oru Thalai Kadhal’. A Mumbai girl will be the heroine. After finishing the project, I am planning to launch my second son Kuralarasan as an actor.’

The film is inspired from ‘Western adventure comedy film’ based on Cowboy stories. Director Simbudevan says, “We chose 18th century subject and bringing out the film as a comedy adventure. We are showing Red Indians in a never before manner. We prepared a fantastic set with the help of 300 workers in Kerala on Hollywood style. It is the biggest set in the entire film industry’s history in India.”

The film has been shot in Bengaluru, Thenkasi, Thada, Madhya Pradesh, Rayachoti, Sathunur, Pune, Nagpur, Palghat, Amba Samudram and Pondicherry. This is the first film to be shot in Kandi Canal in Kandikota of Vijayanagar dynasty. The film unit has taken several risky shots in this 30-foot depth canal and all the artistes were given extensive training in horse riding to shoot a fight sequence.

The 20-crores film Super Cowboy is produced by Kalpathi S Agoram under the banner of A G S Entertainments Pvt Ltd. Director Simbudevan has penned the story and screenplay. Sriramakrishna has penned the dialogues, lyrics by Vanamali, GV Prakash has scored the music. Dialogue king Saikumar is playing a key role in the film, Nazar, Manorama, Senthil, Mouli, Delhi Ganesh, Ramesh Khanna and others are in the cast.

Prabhu is a business man settled in London and Sindhu had not met him before her engagement. His family had come down To India on business tour. The offer came from one of her mother’s cousins. Her family met his family and the kundlis (horoscope) of both were matching. Both the families agreed to go ahead with the alliance. “So it (engagement) happened all of a sudden,” the Bangalore Times reports Sindhu as saying.

Both the families wanted their engagement ceremony to be a low-key affair. Even though it was a just family affair, there was lot music and mehendi. Many of her friends were present on the occasion. Her brother Karthik Menon was the happiest man on the earth on that day. He was running around to ensure that his sister had a good time.

As Sindhu fans are keeping their fingers crossed about her marriage, the newly-engaged couple has planned to settle down in London. Prabhu has already returned to London and is hoping that she will complete all her projects before their marriage. Meanwhile, Sindhu is in Chennai to shoot for her Tamil film.

The film is directed by Sakthi Chidambaram and is produced by him under the banner of Cinema Paradise. Sathyaraj and Sundar C have donned lead role with bombshell Hema Malini starring opposite them in female lead role.

Earlier, Vadivelu was signed to perform a prominent role in this film and later Santhanam replaced him. Much as Sakthi Chidambaram’s previous films, this one will be a commercial entertainer with lots of fun, frolic and glamorous fiesta by Hema Malini.

Raavan is a multi-lingual film that has Vikram and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan playing the lead roles in the Tamil version, while Ash pairs up with Abhishek Bachchan for the Hindi version.

The latest news is that he has invited his old friends Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan for the big launch. But whether they would attend the function still remains a mystery, as they would not like to rub the ruling party the wrong way. Captain is starting a General Entertainment Channel (GEC) knows the importance of Kollywood stars and their reach. His channel has already purchased a few Tamil films, though the first film he will telecast is going to be Captain Prabhakar.

At the same time, Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan has confirmed their participation at the foundation stone laying ceremony for Kalaignar Thirai Oor, a residential colony for members of the film fraternity, at Paiyanoor near Chennai on April 23. The chief guest at the function would be Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

Moreover, Parthiban’s Manitha Neya Mantram is said to have influenced Suriya largely in forming his own Agaram Foundation. Now the off screen friendship between Suriya and Parthiban is all set to take roots on big screen. The latest news is that Suriya is impressed with a story of Parthiban and is likely to do the film under Parthiban direction. It also says Parthiban and Suriya were to do a film after ‘Mounam Pesiyathey’ but that did not happen for some reasons. But the critics say director Vasanth has been trying for very long to get the dates of Suriya but not getting it. If Suriya hasn’t preferred Vasanth yet will he with Parthiban.
