’Super’ was earlier shooting at AOL Company, UB City, Mysore and in Tumkur. After London schedule, taking a small break, the shoot is planned in Dubai and that will be the last schedule for the film.

Comedy actors Sadhu Kokila, Telugu actor Ali and others are in the cast. Upendra is keeping all contents related to the ‘Super’ film made in three languages very tight without leaking it to media.

This was the first year of the Innovative Film Awards (IFA) and the awards declared for the Kannada films of the year 2009 were given in 36 categories. The stage was beautifully decorated and Shivarajakumar coming from the top with the help of a rope was the highlight of the show. The cultural programs entertained the audience in the four hour show.

Popular South Indian actor Prakash Raj remarked that Shivaraj Kumar’s style of appearance on stage was rocking. He also lauded the top standards set in by the Innovative Film Awards from this year. Ramya, Yogish, Pragna, Neethu, Pooja Gandhi, Sahdu Kokila, Doddanna, Bullet Prakash, Yash, Chiranjeevi Sarja took part in the cultural programs.

Sudeep interviewed the four beautiful heroines Ragini, Haripriya, Aindrita Ray and Anu Prabhakar when they came up on stage, asking each of them how much time they took to dress up for the event.

It is most likely to release on 14th May. There are two other films – Ramesh Aravind ‘Preethiyinda Ramesh’ and top director Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar’s ‘Nooru Janmaku’ hitting the screens on 14th of May.

The reason for three biggies backing out this week is obvious. Puneeth Rajakumar’s ‘Prithvi’ and Golden Star Ganesh ‘Ullasa Uthsaha’ are doing fairly well in the box office. ‘Prithvi’ is in the third week and ‘Ullasa Uthsaha’ is in the second week at the box office.

“I’m excited to hear that the movie will be finally out in theatres this week. She’s equally thrilled with her role. “The character is different from anything I’ve done before. I play a homely girl, in sarees, madi mailge,” she laughs. The actress has also completed eighty percent of her next film, Pancharangi. “Only the song sequences are left for which they are in search of some exotic locations,” she says.

Having worked with Yograj Bhat for the first time, Nidhi is all praise for the director. “He’s a magician on the sets,” she says. And her co-star, Diganth, she says, has also done a great job. “I’ve seen most of his films. But I think Pancharangi will be his best so far,” she adds.

Wondering who the fifth idiot is? It’s the heroine of the film, Namrata Hegde. “Yes, it’s me,” she laughs. The film goes on the floors from Monday. “It’s an outand-out comedy. And it’s going to be fun working with my co-stars,” she adds.

“After Boni, I took a break for six months to brush up on my acting skills. I learnt a little bit of dance and also got into shape,” she says. And she’s thrilled about doing a Kannada film. “I think I’ve made the right choice; it’ll be a great experience to work with producer Bharath and director Mahesh Babu, who want to make movies for today’s audience,” she says.

And Sandalwood, says Kriti, is no different from the Tamil and Telugu industries. “It was a conscious decision to do a Kannada film. I’m a Bangalore girl after all,” says the Punjabi kudi, who rejected Ravi Teja’s film for Chiru. “I was offered the role opposite Ravi Teja which is now being played by Anjana Sukhani as my dates clashed with this film. I’m committed to Chiru now. Besides, I like doing only one project at a time,” she says.

As for Chiranjeevi, Kriti says, “We belong to the same generation and make for a fresh jodi. I’m sure we’ll share good chemistry on screen as it’s a very cute love story.” Apart from acting, Kriti has hosted shows, too. “Being part of the Filmfare awards, I got acquainted with Kajal Agarwal, who’s a good friend now, and Allu Arjun, whose pet name is Bunny. But I have the biggest crush on Nagarjuna, which I’ve even mentioned to his wife, Amala,” she laughs.

“But the concept sounded interesting and the producer promised me the schedule wouldn’t interfere with my kids’ school timings, so I agreed,” says the Bong beauty. The show, she says, will be along the lines of the Perfect Bride, which was recently aired on national TV. “It’s basically a show on which we’ll groom prospective brides. So, we’ll give them make-up tips, take them shopping and work towards making them complete women,” says Priyanka. She’ll also give them mock situations like handling boisterous kids and organising kitty parties for mothers-in-law. “I’ve been married for a while and everything’s so perfect. I hope to teach them the things I’ve learnt over the years,” smiles Priyanka. Titled Kanasina Kanmani, the show will also feature a bachelor from Sandalwood to add a masculine twist to the show.

“I think Om Prakash makes hard-hitting films and when he approached me, I had to take it up,” says Jennifer. And Huli, she says, will see her playing a glamorous role. “It’s as glam as Jenny can get. You can say that I’m the Kareena Kapoor of Sandalwood. I can essay stylish roles, which are acceptable within my limits,” she adds further.

“I have done films with known faces and nothing much came out of it. So, I don’t think starring with a new/unknown/popular face makes a difference. When I sign a film, one of the three elements — production house, director or hero has to be good. Here it’s Om Prakash. I know he can extract the best out of me. Because I may be talented, but if the director doesn’t have the capacity to make me emote, then it’s no use doing the film,” explains Jenny.

She has also finished wrapping up Appu Pappu. “It was a guest appearance for my manager Pratap. I can’t say no to him because he considers me his lucky charm. I had a great time shooting with Abbas and the chimp whom I’ve named Bubbles,” she tells us. The actress, who’s also awaiting the release of the longpending Bisile, will even listen to two scripts while she’s in town. “Things are going well in Bollywood, too. I’m also the brand ambassador for a wellknown textile company and should be up on the hoardings soon,” she wraps up.

The actress has now made it clear that her marriage life is going on well. Meena also clarified that she is under no pressure to act or quit acting and her husband’s family is supportive of all the career moves she makes. She also appealed to the media and fans not to spread rumors about her marital life.

Recently, Shivaraj Kumar spoke to the leading news paper about the shooting of the movie Sugreeva. He said that though the film has been shot in 18 hours, it is just like any other feature film. He was very impressed with the way it was filmed. He said that he wants to direct a film in 15 hours, but not now.

The Kannada actor has signed his next project, which is titled Mylari. For the first time, Shivanna is working with Taj Mahal fame director R Chandru for the film. He is also playing a romantic role in the film Cheluveye Ninna Nodalu, which is directed by debutant Raghu Ram and stars Sonal Chauhan with Shivaraj.

However, Sugreeva has been directed by 10 directors. The story of the film revolves around a happily married mechanic hijacking a hospital to save his son, who is suffering from heart disease. The film is loosely based on the Hollywood movie John Q starring Denzel Washington. Shivaraj Kumar, Yajna Shetty, Harish Raaj, Dileep Raaj, Raju Talikote are in the cast.
